She may be a patient observer, but don’t mistake her calm demeanor for complacency. Her interests include baking—“Baking is akin to breathing,” she says—and her family, all of whom have now relocated to Indiana after many years in New Jersey.
We don’t even mind that she’s never seen Star Wars or Star Trek, since Emily long ago secured her rightful seat at the nerd table—alongside the rest of the Flock—with an early immersion in the Middle Earth mythos. Maybe she’ll bring Beorn’s honey cakes to the office for second breakfast.
Who is one of your heroes?
Mother Teresa. Not only does she serve as a constant inspiration to be more compassionate and open to helping others, but she never wavered in her ambition and tenacity.
